Getting your GP practice online need not be complicated or time consuming. Our experience of working with GPs has given us first hand knowledge of what’s required, from the client (GP) perspective to the user (patient) need.
Here’s an example of how we helped a multi-practice group get online with a website for each of their practices.
Our brief was to design a fresh looking, functional and patient-friendly website. The site needed to be accessible by staff members for them to update and add new content. Working closely with the client, we created a range of templates, which we then developed to achieve the desired look. Branding, layout, style and usability were all key requirements.
Stage two of the project was to implement online patient registration, repeat prescription and change of address forms.
Enabling this technology with security in mind we deployed SSL certificates to ensure that any information sent via the website is encrypted. Patients can now conveniently register from their home or workplace.
The final stage was for us to develop an interactive postcode checker to compliment the online registration setup. Using mapping technology we were able to show the practice catchment area where patients can enter their post code and immediately see if they fall within the boundary. Having completed the project for the series of practice websites we were asked to redesign the clients corporate website. The website brief required us to show film media as well as an interactive map displaying the clients’ practices. We were delighted to be offered the challenge! you can see the results here.
