GP website features, what we will do for you.
Doctors’ Website design:
Bespoke design means a unique look for your practice website, we will build you a website to your preferred style. You may have already seen an existing doctors website (or indeed any other type of site) that you like the look of in which case we can build a similar looking one for you. If design is not your thing don’t worry! we’ll come up with a few suggestions for the website and liaise with you to get it looking just how you like it.
Here’s an example of a GP website we’ve built.
Up to 8 web pages:
These pages would normally include details such as surgery hours, services, location, contact (with interactive map), staff profiles etc. You supply us with the content we do all the legwork! we’ll upload the copy to each appropriate page, if you have photos we’ll upload those for you too. We can take information from a word document or email so if you already have copy for your practice brochure in this format then that’s ideal. If you need more than 8 pages for your website you can either create new ones yourself or we can do this for a small additional charge.
Support:
Stuck with something you can’t resolve? send us an email, you will always get a quick response and if it’s urgent you can call us. There is no extra charges for our support services.
Upload your logo:
If you have a practice logo we’ll upload to the website for you (you don’t have to have a logo on the website). Depending on the shape it’s usually better placed in the header (top) of the webpage. We’ll advise you if we don’t feel it works in that position and suggest some alternatives. If you don’t have a logo we can design one for you, additional fees apply please contact us to discuss.
Emis access:
If your practice is set up to use Emis (or other similar service providers) we can provide a link from your site to their system.
Optimising your site:
Having a web site is all well and good but you need people to be able to find it. Search engine results pages (SERPS) as provided by Google, Yahoo! & Bing have a huge number of website listings and unless you are on page 1 of these results it is unlikely people will be able to find your site. We will optimise your site to help the process of getting you the recognition you deserve.
Website optimisation means taking key words and phrases from each of your site’s pages and using software to promote these to the search engines. We will also include interactive maps and submit this info to the search engines for inclusion in the results.When a patient searches the phrase “GP in Vauxhall” or ” “doctors surgery docklands” your website should be at the top of the 1st page of the results, if it’s not you at the top it will be the other practices in your area which is not what you want.
Some times patients will be looking for basic practice information such as your contact number or opening time. If your website is optimised these results often will be displayed making it a quick and easy process for the patient to easily find what they are looking for (without them having to go to your website!). Analytics:
We can help you to understand what your website visitors are looking for. Looking at search terms you can see key words and phrases which people use to find your site and also use to search whilst on your site. This is useful for providing site user / patient intelligence and over time it can show trends when you aggregate the data. Get in touch to find out more.
1 Years website hosting:
The doctors website package price is inclusive of website hosting for one year. After the first year you have to pay a nominal fee of £45 per year (£95 for the interactive site) to continue with us to have your site on the internet. Included within this fee is a website back-up service, we perform daily back-ups so if anything should fail then we have a copy of your site ready to re-deploy**
Registration of a domain name:
If you don’t have a domain name don’t panic! we will order one for you and take care of the technical side of things. You tell us the ideal name you’d like for your website (it may be your practice name) and we will register it for you. Please note that the domain name may already be owned by someone else, in that case we will come up with a list of alternatives close to your original desired name for you to choose from. If you already have a domain name then great! we will however need to point the DNS to our servers in order to host the website.
When you register a .uk domain name you enter into a contract with Nominet who administer all .uk domain names. The domain registration period lasts for two years, at the end of which you can extend this for a further two years. This renewable process continues for a long as you wish (& pay the fee).
*Secure online registration:
If you would like to to offer an online patient registration service we will set up a secure, automated & encrypted email system that works directly from your website. We will work with you to define the fields you need the patient to complete, these can be required (answer) fields, free flow text forms, multiple choice drop down selection. When the user submits the form from your website you will receive an email notifying you of the new registration.
*Secure change of address / change of name forms:
We can deploy a secure change of details page where patients can notify you of their updated personal information. This is sent to you via encrypted, secure email.
*Secure repeat prescription form:
Provide your patients with the opportunity to submit to you their repeat prescription via the website
